The worlds of J-pop and K-pop came together for a performance of epic proportions on the final day of 2023. 

During the 74th NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen, Japanese superduo YOASOBI presented a rousing live performance of their hit song 'Idol', which was one of Bandwagon's Top Songs of 2023, while supported by a star-studded dance contingent.

Broadcast yearly by Japanese media company NHK, Kohaku Uta Gassen is a New Year's Eve television special that features competitive performances from popular music acts. 

Acts who could be spotted alongside YOASOBI's Ayase and Ikura included NewJeans, SEVENTEEN, LE SSERAFIM, Stray Kids, TWICE sub-unit MiSaMo, Sakurazaka46, Nogizaka46, Avantgardey, JO1, NiziU, BE:FIRST, Real Akiba Boyz, Ano, and Kanna Hashimoto.

Aside from participating in the collaboration, the aforementioned acts, who were divided into two teams during the show, also staged individual performances.

Following the broadcast of the 74th NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen, fans of the team-up's featured artists took to social media to react to the YOASOBI-led performance, with one even calling it "one for the history books".
