SUMMER SONIC is set to return this August.

The Japanese music festival is set to happen over a weekend from 20 to 21 August 2022, at Maishima Sonic Park, Osaka and Zozomarine Stadium, and Makuhari Messe in Tokyo. This comes as Summer Sonic's first run since 2019 due to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and the COVID-19 pandemic.

The 1975 and Post Malone will be headlining the festival and will be joined by the likes of Carly Rae Jepsen, CL, Kasabian, The Libertines, Måneskin, Megan Thee Stallion, ONE OK ROCK, The Offspring, Primal Cream, St. Vincent, Yungblud, All Time Low, Beabadoobee, Easy Life, Fishbone, Griff, Inhaler, Kacey Musgraves, Kula Shaker, Rina Sawayama, Squid, The Linda Lindas, and The Struts.

Ahead of the festival, SUMMER SONIC has announced that Zico, Kang Daniel, Seori, Novel Core, ØZI, HYDE, and more have joined the lineup.

Tickets are priced at JPY 17,000 for one day, and JPY 31,000 for two days for the Tokyo venues. As for those intending to attend the Osaka leg, tickets are JPY 15,000 for a day pass and JPY 28,000 for two days. 

Ticket sales dates will be released at a later date. 

In its previous runs, SUMMER SONIC has seen fantastic stages from acts like BTS, The Struts, MGMT, Fall Out Boy, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, BLACKPINK, SEVENTEEN, The Boyz, The Chainsmokers, and many more.

New additions to the line-up include ASIAN KUNG FU GENERATION, Awesome City Club, Mrs. GREEN APPLE, BE:FIRST, THE ORAL CIGARETTES, SALEM ILESE, and TOMORROW X TOGETHER (TXT).
