On Monday (13/12), the Hollywood Foreign Press Association revealed the nominees for the 79th Golden Globe Awards.

Hit Korean Netflix series Squid Game is nominated for Best Television Series (Drama), with lead actor Lee Jung-jae earning a Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series, Drama nomination. 

Meanwhile, Billie Eilish and FINNEAS are up for Best Original Song, Motion Picture for their Bond theme, 'No Time To Die'. The GRAMMY-winning siblings are nominated alongside the likes of Beyonce, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Van Morission, Jennifer Hudson, and Carole King.

Lady Gaga scored a Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture (Drama) nomination for her portrayal of Patrizia Reggiani in House of Gucci. This is the pop icon's second nomination in the category after getting the nod back in 2019 for her performance in A Star Is Born. The 'Rain On Me' singer previously won Golden Globes for Best Actress in a Miniseries/Television Film for American Horror Story: Hotel and Best Original Song (Motion Picture) for 'Shallow.'

Tick, tick... BOOM!, the Netflix musical directed by Lin-Manuel Miranda, is up for Best Picture, Musical or Comedy, alongside the likes of West Side Story, Don't Look Up, Cyrano, and Licorice Pizza - which stars HAIM's Alana Haim. Lead star Andrew Garfield, who takes on the role of legendary playwright and composer Jonathan Larson, is also nominated for Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy.

The 79th Golden Globes will be held on 9 January 2022.
