Trailing behind Swift are K-pop acts SEVENTEEN and Stray Kids, placing at second and third on the chart, respectively. Other K-pop artists that made it to the Top 10 chart are TOMORROW X TOGETHER at no. 7 and NewJeans at no. 8, while IVE and NCT DREAM appear on the IFPI Global Artist Chart Top 20 at no.12 and no. 15, respectively. In the world of J-pop, King & Prince make their debut on the chart at no. 20.
"We are immensely proud to award the IFPI Global Recording Artist of the Year Award to Taylor Swift for the fourth time, as she continues to redefine the limits of global success. Taylor is a singular talent and her commitment to her craft and her fans is truly phenomenal," Lewis Morrison, Director of Charts and Certifications at IFPI said in a statement
βIt is also fantastic to see so many artists entering the chart for the first time, and the return of established acts years after their last appearance. As the global recorded music landscape shifts and new opportunities emerge, record companies continue their work to build global, long-term careers for their artists.β
Over the past 11 years IFPI, the organisation that represents the recorded music industry worldwide, has been calculating music acts' streaming, download, and physical sales over the course of the calendar year, covering their entire catalogue.
